The HSCo knob-type single-beam spectrophotometer, Series 2, is a simple, low-cost instrument for routine absorbance and concentration tests. You set the wavelength by hand with a dial on the front panel, and a 4-inch LCD shows transmittance, absorbance, concentration and factor directly. Two versions are available: 320 – 1,100 nm with a 6 nm bandwidth, or 320 – 1,020 nm with a 5 nm bandwidth. An RS-232 port sends results to a PC, and optional software adds analysis and record-keeping. It is used in colleges and universities, environmental testing, food and beverage QC, agriculture, and routine lab work.
