The HSCo ECON-1 series (HSCE-SPM-KLS) is an affordable single-beam spectrophotometer with a simple keypad and LCD, for routine lab work, teaching, water testing and QC. It uses a 1200 lines/mm grating and a silicon photodiode detector. UV-Vis models cover 190 to 1,100 nm with deuterium and tungsten lamps; visible models cover 320 to 1,100 nm or 340 to 1,050 nm with a tungsten lamp. It stores 200 results and 100 standard curves, and with its PC software it adds spectrum scans, kinetics, DNA/protein tests and multi-wavelength analysis.
