The HSCo HSC-RTPCRS real-time PCR (qPCR) system amplifies DNA and RNA and measures it as it grows, by fluorescence, for accurate quantification of nucleic acids. It takes a 96-well plate (0.2 mL tubes or strips) with 10 – 100 µL per well, reads 4 to 6 fluorescence channels depending on the model, and holds the block within ±0.2 °C, heating or cooling at up to 5 °C per second. A 7- or 10-inch colour touchscreen runs it, and its software covers quantification, melt curves, genotyping and relative expression. It is used for gene expression, pathogen detection, SNP genotyping and DNA quantification.
