The HSC gel electrophoresis unit separates DNA, RNA and proteins by size in an agarose or polyacrylamide gel under an electric field. It is used in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, biotechnology and clinical research labs. It comes as a horizontal or vertical unit, with gel trays from 7 × 7 cm up to 15 × 20 cm. The tank is leak-proof acrylic, with detachable electrodes of 99.99% pure platinum wire. A lid interlock stops the current whenever the lid is open.
