The HSC texture analyser measures how hard, springy, sticky, chewy or strong a sample is, by pressing or pulling it with a probe and recording force, distance and time. It uses interchangeable load cells from 1 N to 500 N (up to 5 kN optional) with ±0.1% FS accuracy, a programmable 0.01–40 mm/s drive, and PC software that calculates hardness, cohesiveness, springiness, gumminess and chewiness.
