The HSCo muffle furnace heats samples up to 1,200 °C for ashing, fusion, ignition and heat treatment. Kanthal A1 heating elements on all four sides of the chamber spread the heat evenly, ceramic fibre insulation keeps it in, and a digital controller sets the temperature. Four chamber sizes run from 22 × 10 × 10 cm to 45 × 23 × 23 cm.
