The HSCo HSC-C-RK20TT is a refrigerated high-speed bench-top centrifuge. It spins at up to 20,000 rpm (27,800 × g), takes up to 4 × 100 ml, and holds the chamber anywhere from −20 to +40 °C within ±1 °C, so samples stay cold through the run. A French Tecumseh compressor with non-CFC R134a refrigerant does the cooling, and a high-torque AC frequency-conversion motor gives fast acceleration and braking, with 9 acceleration and 10 braking levels. It is microcomputer-controlled with an LCD screen, locks its lid electronically and alarms on over-speed, over-temperature and imbalance.
