In logistics you sell space and weight, and you lose money on both when the scale is wrong. A parcel booked at 2 kg that really weighs 3 kg is a kilo you carried for free. A truck loaded past its axle limit is a fine at the check post, or worse. And when the customer and the transporter weigh the same consignment and get different numbers, someone has to write off the difference.

Weighing scales for air cargo and airlines
Air cargo is charged by weight and every kilo affects the load plan, so the scale at the cargo terminal has to be right. Low platform scales with built-in ramps let trolleys roll straight on, pallet scales weigh cargo while it’s being moved, and platform scales up to 5 t handle the bigger pieces. At check-in and in the cargo office, a handy digital luggage scale (50 kg × 10 g) settles small questions quickly. Air India is among the airlines that use HSCo scales.

Stopping overloaded trucks before they leave
Overloading fines, tyre wear and damaged roads all come from the same thing: nobody weighed the truck before it left. A weighbridge at the depot catches it, but many depots have no room for one. Portable axle weigh pads fill the gap: the truck drives over them one axle at a time, the indicator shows each axle load and the total, and the pads pack away when you’re done.
