The number on the display is right. The number on the challan is wrong. That gap is the whole reason for connected weighing scales. A connected weighing scale sends its reading out by itself to the PC, PLC, printer, phone app or cloud dashboard that needs it. Nobody has to read the display and copy the weight.

What "connected weighing" means on a factory floor
Say a pallet at your dispatch bay reads 412.5 kg. Without a connection, someone reads the display, writes 412.5 on the challan, and in the evening types it into Tally. 3 chances to get it wrong. Connected, the captured weight goes straight into the billing or stock entry, and the log keeps the time, product, batch and operator with it. You do not retype the weight.
The link is chosen for the job: a foundry crane scale talks to a printer and a per-lift log, a tank on load cells to a PLC, a kirana scale to a billing app. HSCo builds each one to fit.

Any HSCo scale can be built with any of these; a scale already in use, HSCo’s own or in most cases another make, can be upgraded. The links below cover the interfaces and the related app development.
RS232 interface – links one scale to one PC, printer or PLC over a short cable, typically up to about 15 metres; we set the baud rate and output string to what your software reads.
RS485 interface – the industrial serial link for PLC and SCADA: long runs and several scales on one line, up to 32 devices and about 1,200 metres under the standard; plain weight text or Modbus RTU, whichever your PLC expects.
4-20 mA output – an analog current signal for a PLC’s compatible input card; 4 mA is the low end, 20 mA the high end, and we set which weights those points mean.
USB connectivity – plug into a PC or laptop, or save readings to a pen drive; we set the output to match your receiving device.
Relay output – a switch the scale closes at a weight you set: stop a filling valve, start a conveyor, sound an alarm.
Bluetooth module – a short-range wireless link to a phone or tablet, for counter and portable scales.
Wi-Fi module – puts the scale on your plant network; the reading reaches a PC, an app or a cloud server with no cable to the office.
GSM/4G – a cellular link built around the mobile coverage at your site when Wi-Fi is unavailable; iOS app development includes 4G options.
GPS module – stamps each weighment with where it was taken, for logistics, mining and waste collection.

No. Wi-Fi is one route. A Bluetooth scale can reach the cloud through the phone app beside it, a wired scale can send through a PC on the network, and a site without Wi-Fi can use a custom GSM/4G link where mobile coverage is available. Yes. Scales already in use, HSCo’s own and in most cases other makes, can be upgraded with RS232, RS485, USB, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, or given a new indicator that carries the port. Send the model number, a photo of the indicator, and the device or software at the other end. If the scale is stamped for trade, HSCo arranges the Legal Metrology re-verification where it is required.
