The HSCo HSC-IIS infrared inoculation sterilizer sterilises inoculating loops, needles and other small instruments in seconds, without an open flame. It replaces the alcohol lamp or Bunsen burner: slide the loop into the heated ceramic core, which reaches 825 ± 25 °C at its centre and idles at 480 °C when standing by. With no flame, it is safe to use inside biosafety cabinets and clean rooms. Two models take loops up to 14 mm or 35 mm across.
