The HSCo HSC-C-RT21FLR is a floor-standing, refrigerated high-speed centrifuge: up to 21,000 rpm (50,400 × g) and up to 6 × 500 ml, with the chamber held anywhere from −20 to +40 °C within ±1 °C by a French Tecumseh compressor with R404a refrigerant. The speed holds within ±10 rpm and the timer runs from 1 second to 99 h 59 min 59 s. A front touch screen runs it, with up to 100 stored programs, and it recognises the rotor fitted, locks the lid and raises an alarm on over-speed, over-temperature or imbalance. Rotors range from 36 micro tubes to 6 × 500 ml bottles, and two continuous-flow rotors process 1,000 or 3,000 ml at 200 to 800 ml a minute.
