The HSCo standard vortex mixer HSC-SVM starts mixing by itself when a tube is pressed onto its cup, sensed by an infrared light sensor, so you do not need to touch a switch. It also runs continuously. It spins up to 3,000 rpm with a 4 mm orbit on a heavy zinc-alloy base. There are two versions: one with a speed knob, and one with buttons, an LCD and a timer. It is used for biological fluids, chemical reagents and routine tube mixing.
