The HSCo GDM is an electronic density meter built around a precision balance with its own water tank and stainless-steel hanging basket. Weigh a gold item in air on the top platform, then in water in the basket, and the density, and so the purity, follows. It comes in 300 g × 0.001 g and 1,200 g × 0.01 g versions, with a big LCD and an RS232 port for a computer or thermal printer.
