The HSC high volume air sampler (HVAS) draws a large, steady volume of ambient air through a filter so that suspended particulate matter can be collected, weighed and analysed. It is built for SPM and respirable dust sampling, including PM10 and PM2.5 work, in air-quality monitoring, industrial emission studies and pollution-control research.
How it works
A high-efficiency blower pulls air through an 8 × 10 inch glass-fibre or paper filter at a controlled flow rate for a timed run. Weighing the filter before and after the run, and dividing the dust collected by the volume of air sampled, gives the particulate concentration.
