An RS485 port scale is a complete HSCo weighing scale with an RS485 output built in at the factory, so its weight readings go straight into a PLC, SCADA system or industrial controller. RS485 carries data over long cable runs with little interference and lets several scales share one line, which is why process plants use it to watch many weighing points from one control room. We build it on a table-top scale or an MS or SS platform scale.
