Why a standard scale will not do
An ordinary scale’s circuits, keys and battery can spark. Where solvents, gases or combustible dust are present, that spark is an ignition source. An explosion-proof scale encloses and designs its electrics so they cannot ignite the atmosphere, protecting operators and the plant.
