An explosion-proof scale is built so that its electrics cannot ignite flammable gas, vapour or dust around it. HSCo custom-builds explosion-proof weighing scales for hazardous areas in chemical plants, refineries, paint and solvent units, pharmaceutical plants and petrochemical sites, to the capacity, platform size, display and outputs each site needs.
Why a standard scale will not do
An ordinary scale’s circuits, keys and battery can spark. Where solvents, gases or combustible dust are present, that spark is an ignition source. An explosion-proof scale encloses and designs its electrics so they cannot ignite the atmosphere, protecting operators and the plant.
