This hand-held laser distance meter measures distances in a tenth of a second to three seconds, with ±3 mm accuracy, and works out area, volume and indirect (Pythagorean) heights for you. It has a backlit display, continuous measuring, min/max, data storage, and runs on two AAA batteries. It weighs just 81 g and is dust- and splash-protected.
