We offer weighing scale training for staff who use scales and balances. A missed zero or incorrect tare can change the figure you record, so correct daily use matters.

Who the training is for

Send an enquiry for the people at the scale every day, a new team learning a laboratory balance, or the supervisor or quality-control person checking their figures.

For balance operation training involving laboratory scales or precision balances, tell us the models and what your team weighs on them.

How to use a weighing scale or balance correctly – daily practice

These are general good-practice checks. Use them to see where your team needs guidance, then tell us your scales and your team’s tasks so we can confirm what the training covers.

Prepare the scale

  • Level the scale before use.
  • Switch it on before you need it and allow it to warm up before weighing.
  • Keep the weighing platform clean and dry.
  • Check that the empty scale reads zero before placing a load on it.

Use tare correctly

Tare removes the container’s weight from the displayed reading so you can weigh its contents. Place the empty container on the scale, use tare, then add the material.

Keep the total load, including the container, within the scale’s capacity. Using tare does not increase the load the scale can carry.

Check with a known test weight

Place a known test weight on the scale and compare the display with that weight’s value. If the reading differs, note the difference and contact service.

We supply test weights for weighing checks.

When to contact service

If readings still drift after these checks, call service to have the scale checked. Contact service when the Legal Metrology stamp is due too; we arrange re-verification for HSCo scales anywhere in India.

Our scale-making team provides service in Mumbai; elsewhere in India, support comes through our network of over 1,440 repairers, service dealers and technicians.

A daily test-weight check replaces neither calibration against reference weights with a certificate, which we arrange through NABL-accredited labs, nor Legal Metrology verification and stamping, the Government’s legal check for trade scales; see our calibration and stamping service.

Send your training requirement

Send the number of people, equipment types and models, site location, and the language your team works in. Say what needs attention, such as using tare or checking readings.

Use the enquiry form below, the floating Contact Us button or our contact page. Call or WhatsApp +91-7045922250, or e-mail hsc@hindustanscale.com.

Can we enquire about training for laboratory balances as well as shop and platform scales?

We make table-top, platform, crane and laboratory/precision scales. Send your equipment types and models, team size, location and daily tasks so we can confirm the training scope.

Send the language your team works in, along with the number of people, equipment details and site location, so we can confirm availability.

If readings drift, contact service. Send the equipment details and describe the change in readings; if the scale is used for trade, also tell us when it was last stamped.

No; a known test weight is for an operating check and does not replace either service. Tell us whether you need a calibration certificate or help with stamping, and send the scale details.
