The HSCo Baby Scale app records weights from our Bluetooth baby scale against each baby’s record, so the nurse can save a weighing without copying the weight into a register. Built for hospital wards and clinics, it shows each baby’s growth history and flags readings using limits set by the hospital’s own doctors.

It runs on an Android 8.0 or newer phone or tablet. Records stay on that device; nothing is sent to HSCo or any cloud.

Save a steady reading against the right baby

The scale steadies the reading by itself. The nurse checks that the correct baby’s record is selected, then saves the weighing in one tap. The nurse’s name is stamped on each weighing. It is a stamp, not a login: when two nurses share one tablet, the name is changed under More at handover.

The weight and the baby’s record are saved together. Confirming which baby is on the tray is still the nurse’s job; the app cannot do that.

Flag readings for review using your hospital's limits

The app immediately marks a weighing as fine, needs watching or needs the doctor, using the limits your hospital sets. Your hospital’s own doctors decide those limits.

The app is an aid, not a doctor. It never advises treatment. A flag means: look at this reading. What to do about it is the doctor’s call.

A growth line for each baby

The app draws each baby’s recorded weighings as a growth line. Staff can see the pattern across weighings instead of looking only at the latest weight.

A daily ward round list

The home screen is the day’s ward round list, so the nurse sees at a glance which babies are on the ward.

Earlier records when a baby returns

You can discharge a baby and bring the baby back into the app when they return. Earlier weighings remain available. Nothing is deleted from the app, so discharge does not remove the baby’s history.

Keep records on the ward's phone or tablet

Records stay only on the phone or tablet running the app. They are not sent to HSCo or any cloud and leave the device only through a deliberate export.

The ward’s records, or one baby’s record, can be sent as a spreadsheet file by WhatsApp, email or to a drive. The hospital decides when to send them.

A weekly test-weight check with the ward’s known weight proves the scale is weighing correctly and keeps a record of every check.

What to check before ordering

  • The scale: the app works with HSCo’s Bluetooth baby scale, and the two have been tested together. Send details of the scale you have or need so we can check your proposed setup.
  • The ward device: the phone or tablet must run Android 8.0 or newer. Send its model and Android version.
  • The limits: send the weight limits your doctors want the app to flag.

For the weighing equipment itself, see our baby scales.

Price, licence and live demo

Price on request. We customise and license the app for your hospital or clinic. It is supplied directly, rather than through an app store, and comes with lifetime updates and a detailed user manual. The HSCo Baby Scale app is in use with customers.

For a live demo on a tablet, WhatsApp +91-7045922250. Send the baby scale you have or need, the phone or tablet the ward will use, and the weight limits your doctors want flagged.
