Foundry sand moisture test on the MA110.1
What this video shows
The MA110.1 moisture analyzer is used to test a foundry sand sample. The operator switches it on, spreads the sand, selects Auto, sets 180 °C and starts drying. The demonstration uses 15 g of sand and shows the drying time, temperature, sample weights and moisture result on the display.
When drying stops, the displayed moisture result is 0.94%. The example also shows a heating time of 3 minutes 31 seconds. These are readings from the sample shown, rather than settings for every foundry sand test.
Before you start
Keep 10 to 15 g of foundry sand ready for the test.
Steps in the video
- Switch on the moisture analyzer.
- Place 10 to 15 g of foundry sand on the sample pan.
- Spread the sand across the pan.
- Select Auto and set the temperature to 180 °C.
- Start drying and read the moisture result when drying stops.
