A PC, a printer, a PLC or an HMI, one device per port, over a serial cable that is typically kept to about 15 metres. The scale sends the weight in real time and the device records or prints it. Every HSCo weighing system can be built with RS232 or upgraded to it, and the RS232 weighing scale output is set to match your receiving device.
Yes. Any HSCo scale can be upgraded to RS232, and in most cases other makes can too. Send us the model, a photo of the indicator and the device it must connect to. We build the connection around that equipment and arrange the Legal Metrology re-verification where it is required after the upgrade.
RS232 is a serial connection to a PC, printer or PLC. HSCo also offers USB connectivity for a PC, laptop or pen drive. The right choice depends on the receiving device and the format its software reads. Tell us the device and the software; we set the connection and the output to match.
HSCo sets the RS232 baud rate and data format to match your PC, printer or PLC; there is no fixed default. Send the receiving device’s manual and say which you want: continuous output, capture on stable weight or output on request. We configure the data bits, parity, stop bits and weight string for that connection.
